I have fink python installed:
Barra:~ richard$ which python
/sw/bin/python
It is python2.7:
Barra:~ richard$ ls -l /sw/bin/python*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 7 Oct 19 14:13 /sw/bin/python -> python2
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 14 Oct 19 14:13 /sw/bin/python-config ->
python2-config
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 9 Oct 19 14:13 /sw/bin/python2 -> python2.7
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 16 Oct 19 14:13 /sw/bin/python2-config ->
python2.7-config
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 8920 Oct 19 14:12 /sw/bin/python2.7
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 1548 Oct 19 14:13 /sw/bin/python2.7-config
But, I can't see it in the list of installed packages:
Barra:~ richard$ fink list -i | grep python
i mysql-python-py27 1.2.3-1 Python interface to MySQL
The list of not installed packages misses python27 as expected.

If I just do the full list without modifiers, I see python27, but with
"*i*" rather than "i".

I know what "(i)" means - what does "*I*" mean?
