Alexander

Thanks. After a complaint about netcdf, that worked fine! Like this:

First:
sudo dpkg -i /Updates-n-Downloads/netcdf-shlibs_3.6.0-1002_darwin-
powerpc.deb
then:
sudo dpkg -i /Updates-n-Downloads/gmt_3.4.5-1002_darwin-powerpc.deb

perl script that uses gmt ran OK but with error:
pscoast: Error: No configuration file /sw/share/gmt/coastline.conf
available!
and output was plotted with no coastline map.

How do I connect to the coastline?
in /sw/share/gmt/ I have various binned_GHHS_'x'.cdf files plus
border and river
'x'=c,i,l

I have just added added high resolution binned_GHHS_'x'.nc files from
gshhg-gmt-2.3.4.tar.gz
x'=c,i,l and added f,h

There is a gmt.conf file, which has 'IS' set in it.

I am also guessing I don't have the right files for high resolution
for my powerpc 10.4 gmt system.

kind regards
Mike
