Passing this along for what it is worth. Tried to install PGPLOT via Fink. Exits with this message:
fink install pgplot Information about 11114 packages read in 1 seconds. Can't resolve dependency "x11-dev" for package "pgplot-5.2.2-11" (no matching packages/versions found) Exiting with failure. ------------------- System: OS X 10.10.3 (14D136) Xcode: 6.3.1 (6D1002) X11: XQuartz 2.7.7 fink --version Package manager version: 0.38.5 Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Mon Jun 8 09:54:40 2015, 10.10, x86_64 Trees: local/main stable/main local/injected ------- So this appears to be an X11 problem. I had just recently updated to OS X 10.10. PGPLOT previously ran fine under 10.9, so I downloaded the xquartz installer and ran it. The PGPLOT installation then worked as expected. Conclusion: upgrading from 10.9 to 10.10 messed up X11-dev, which was fixed by reinstalling Xquartz. Passing this along in case someone else runs into a similar issue.
