The cleanup is really only to help in updating to fink-0.39.0. On that fink version the script that migrates the .deb package archives from the old tree to the new tree would quit if any of the symbolic links in /sw/fink/debs were broken before the update. Once the update is done, you’re free to clean up the .debs to save space, but it’s not important otherwise. And for folks updating from fink-0.38.7 and earlier to fink-0.39.1, it’s also not really needed, since now the migration script just gives a warning and continues if it finds a symlink that won’t resolve. -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Fink-beginners mailing list Fink-beginners@lists.sourceforge.net List archive: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.fink.beginners Subscription management: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-beginners
