Now, why not integrate these changes into fink, so that even more people can benefit from your work, and so that it's even simpler to get it to run? Christoph has left the project, and since he was the MySQL maintainer, too, that space is now vacant, maybe you are interested? In particular, we'd need to update the package to the latest MySQL version. Then, there should be a second new package, mysql-max, just like www.mysql.com has mysql-max. This would contain added features, like InnoDB (which your custom version includes, too). If you are interested in working on this directly in fink, that would be most appreciated. If not, well, that's OK, too, but I figured I should ask you first since you obviously have experience with MySQL and actually use it!
