On an almost related note: When I was testing the CD on an iBook, I noticed that gabber was linked against libxmms. I have no idea why yet, but since the gabber package has some other problems, I thought I'd look into it later. I just wanted to suggest that until proper shlibs dependency checking is available, package maintainers build their packages on a full install of Fink, and use "otool -L" to determine what their applications might link against, given availability. Either mark those as depends, or take steps to make sure that such links are not made.
