Okay, I'm brand new to the list, but I've been using fink for over 6 months now. Due to yor plea for us to test the unstable packages, I bit the bullet and copied the packages to the local directory. I first installed the 4.20 x11-rootless distribution. So far, so good! I am currently using it with OroborOSX 0.8 on a G4 Cube. SSH tunneling seems to be okay as well. One improvement is that my windows don't freeze anymore when I do a screenshot (using Cmd-shift-4), which is a welcomed bugfix. So far, all my apps work, including Matlab 6 (which is quite finicky with some window managers, it seems).
This is with fink set to use "sudo" and located in /sw. My original X11 installation was created with fink. Fink version: 0.3.2a.cvs Package version: 0.9.9.cvs My next mission is to install gnuplot 3.8h with AquaTerm. I'll keep you posted. ---- James Sorenson [EMAIL PROTECTED] "I love deadlines.
