I think we need a policy for how to handle packages which are abandoned by
their maintainers.  I propose this:
  1) Change the maintainer field to
       Maintainer: The Fink Project <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
     We can add "formerly maintained by..." to DescPackaging if it seems
     appropriate. 
  2) Put a list of packages-without-maintainer up on the website somewhere,
     asking for volunteers to take them over.
We should do this whenever the maintainer tells us that he or she wishes to
abandon the package, or when efforts to contact the maintainer fail.

We could apply this to the package that was just mentioned on this list,
and also perhaps to chrisp's packages (if someone can determine his wishes
in the matter).
