And let me point out that if you've got bash as your /bin/sh, most of these packages won't *fail* on building, but they will have messed up library versions. It's not a problem now, but will be as soon as you upgrade a package that breaks binary compatibility but still has '0.0.0' as it's compatibility version. -- Ben Reed a.k.a.
