Sébastien: The fink package does install Macho-Python. It just doesn't build the python framework and python.app. I don't know if it makes sense to have a fink package that includes the framework and the app. For one thing, frameworks and apps are designed to be movable - the Mac OS X philosophy is to just mount the .dmg, then drag and drop into the folder of your choice. Fink, on the other hand, is designed to provide unix apps for MacOS X. Unix apps usually break if you move them around. In fact, fink policy has been to discourage packaging of .apps and frameworks unless absolutely necessary (for example, to provide extra functionality for other unix apps, like aquaterm.app and gnuplot). So, it is unlikely that we will package the python .app and framework (you can install them the standard MacOS X way), but we will continue to package the unix version of Macho-Python so that other unix apps can make use of it. I'm cc'ing this the fink-devel list, so that others may comment on this if they so desire. -Jeff -- Jeffrey S.
