Hello.

I am subscribed to the Fink-beginners mailing list, and would not have
joined this list if it were for the fact that I have no idea where else
to go.

I have managed to compile Electric Eyes, an image viewer. It is not on
the list of available or even unstable fink software, as far as I can
see, so I'd like to see who I can pass this info on to so that it can be
added. I don't have the time to learn how to do it myself, I'm sorry.

What I did was this: I downloaded the source replaced config.sub and
config.guess with the ones in my /usr/libexec folder, then changed the
Makefile (added "-no-cpp-precomp -flat_namespace" to the CFLAGS part of
it), and just typed "make". That was all.

The app is a tad unsteady, however. Quitting it makes it throw up a box
saying it crashed, and to report it to the GNOME bug tracker, i think.

It displays images, and the "Open File..." part of it works. I haven't
had time to test any more of it.

So, was this the right place to come to?

Paul
