Paul,
even if you don't understand our remark, why don't you just try it
and use the very latest CVS of Fink. Or go back to an officially
sanctioned version like 0.11.0. Then ncurses will compile just fine.
FYI, the problem you described was occuring for a couple of days in
CVS due to some experimental changes that were applied to it (and
which were previously discussed here and in #fink). It is definitly
working again now and was before, w/o making any changes to the
ncurses .info file. If it still doesn't work for you after doing what
I recommend above, then something must be odd with your setup.
Note that CVS version of fink are not guranteed to work. We take no
warranty for them, and if it formats your HD or eats your favorite
pet bird alive, that's entierly your problem (although we'd of course
be sorry for the poor bird :-)
