Martin,I would say yes. This would make the most fatal of the problems go away. I don't know what can be the consequences of the wrong ownership, but there is not much one can do about that. Make it 1775, not 775, to reproduce the default permissions.
Should I make a new copy of the 0.4.1 installer which has permissions 775
on the root directory instead of 700?
I am not sure. After all, it is still the same distribution. It will have a different creation date which might be sufficient.If so, should I give it a new name?
