I am sure that this is a basic FAQ, but I'm about ready to chuck this laptop through the window in frustration.
I'm trying to get octave working again, on 10.2 now. To do so it seems that I need a newer version of f2c to work around the gxx_personality_v0 problem. The Fink f2c page (http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/f2c) shows:
Package f2c
In 0.4.1-stable: Version 20020123-2
In current-stable: Version 20020123-4
In current-unstable: Version 20020123-4
I've followed the instructions on the http://fink.sourceforge.net/news/jaguar.php page
fink --version shows
Package manager version: 0.11.0
Distribution version: 0.4.1.cvs
I've got
Trees: unstable/main unstable/crypto local/main stable/main stable/crypto local/bootstrap
in my /sw/etc/fink.conf.
I've done fink selfupdate-cvs
I've done fink index
I've done fink update-all
But nothing I've done lets me get at the 20020123-4 version of f2c which I want.
