Dear Developers.

I have a request I would like to pass on to everyone of you. In order to keep this project alive in the press I am planning on increasing the frequency of announcements. I am sure most of you hate empty words just as much as I do, yet there are many things which we do not choose to share with the world yet even though they are very important. For example milestones when it comes to packaging software for Mac os X.

Very popular Software which has not been available to Mac os X users prior to your effort should give you the credit you deserve and thus this should be announced properly.

Keeping our name in the back of the head of the many people who know about Fink will sooner or later in the long run aid the whole Project.

If you port , for example, Request Tracker, then we should make sure to make an announcement, even coordinating this with the Request Tracker developers.

What do I consider a popular package? Well, you decide. I have been using a lot of Software over the past 15 years and I think I know many packages which I would deem popular, yet there might be many I do not know about and thus, please keep the mails coming.
