A quick google search revealed this about Masanori (at least I assume it's him in all cases, seems likely, though. Information in there is probably outdated, plus my Japanase is rather nonexistant, so I don't know if it is of any help :-/
I tried but ...

I confrimed this is most likely to be his home page. It has a page dedicated to Fink. There is a "diary" page. The last message is written 17 November, 2002.

This is just an archived email message addressed to him.

This is a link to his web page.
This one looks promising:
http://ann.phys.wani.osaka-u.ac.jp/members.html (in Google's cache, http://216.239.37.100/search?q=cache:yOXsvhzl7h4C:ann.phys.wani.osaka-u.ac.jp/members.html+masanori+sekino&hl=de&ie=UTF-8). if that *is* him, we might be able to contact some of the folks there (Peter lives in Japan, too, right? So he might be able to phone him w/o paying a fortune...).
On this page, he is described as a former student of a research seminar of, I guess, the Department of Physics, Osaka University, Japan.
Does anybody know a bit more about Masanori? Like what he does in real life? Studying, working? In either case, what exactly? etc.
As far as I can see, he seems to have been working for Fuji Xerox after graduating the Osaka University. I can't tell whether he is still working or not.
On a FAQ page about a software he wrote (LHA Expander), he suggeted that he was too busy to reply to most emails to him.
I could find any more information even when I tried search with his Japanese name. <関野雅則>
Cheers,
