Hmmm, sounds like you'd have to do it in the tetex-texmf maintainer scripts, then. I think at least the pre-inst for tetex-texmf should be called before tetex-base's prerm. [ Yes, I understand that this is a one-time thing. But its also a one-time thing that effects upgrades from the stable distribution, correct? Even if not, I guess I'm used to Debian where if apt-get upgrade doesn't work, it's a grave bug... ]
