Good morning Fink community.
At least where I am it is 8:23 am in the morning. We now have a CVS branch entry on freshmeat. I have added this entry so that I can relay information about significant changes as quickly as possible to the user base that is daring enough to run CVS. The second reason is, that it will influence the way the project is rated in vitality and popularity once more information is passed to the folk reading that website.
I have one major request therefore. Even though I do try to keep on track with CVS commits and even though I do my best to make sure I do not miss it when major development or small but fine fixes make it into the CVS tree, please do not hesitate from now on to drop a line when you either change the fink packet manager subsystem itself (I guess that is targeted towward you, Max, Benjamin, Dave) or when you check in major packages that might play key roles. (new version of KDE, new Apache, etc).
I know that people will benefit from most of the changes by simply running selfupdate-cvs, yet letting the world know about it is never wrong and some might feel encouraged to switch to the "CVS" branch.
