(you beat me to it... there's a similar email sitting in my drafts folder
at home.)

I think the problem is that some mirror sites aren't mirroring the exact
directory structure. I found the file on one of the sites (umn.edu, I
think) but without the 'v1.2.4' directory in the path (i.e.
gimp/v1.2/gimp-1.2.4.tar.bz2 or whatever).

I just downloaded it to /sw/src, and fink didn't complain about a bad
MD5sum, so I guess it worked (haven't tried it yet, though).
