As per request from the tracker I had a look at INN one of the probably best known and most deployed Usenet Servers. The package is basically complete, all works as it compiled fine and initial test seem to prove it stable, one nagging issue remains though.
INN requires a few special setups, running it as a certain user in a certain group. I know that we have something like a passwd package, yet I was wondering if there are better ideas out there to solve this issue?
My concern is, what happens if we try to add a user that already exists?
Could we add something like a passwd file to the base files, so that any change install the new passwd package by default (like in postinstall)
I thought about this for quite some time, but I did not really find a solution, so please do help my fried brain out. Thank you
