Dear fink developers,[snip]
As some of you know, we have a pretty slick system for generating our web pages, using xml source which is processed into php files.
The same xml source can be processed into more "monolithic" html files, which are distributed these days with the binary installer. Also, some parts of the source are processed into txt files, and become part of fink's source distribution.
The latter two steps are not fully automated, and I'd like to propose a reorganization of how we work with these files on CVS, in order to automate things completely.
The first part of the new organization would be adding two lines to CVSROOT/modules, namely:
website -a !web/xml web xml web/xml &fink &website &scripts
Sounds good to me, basically. However, be prepared to experience all sorts of oddness and weirdness with the modules/ code. We've been badly surprised by it in the past... however since this doesn't modify existing modules, just adds some new virtual ones, I guess we should avoid most all of those :-)
In any case, go for it :-)
