I had exactly the same problem. I was trying to make a package for kguitar, which needs tse3. Then I learned that tse3, midi and arts don't work on Mac OS X :(. Check the fink mailinglist archives, more people were trying to package tse3. So I build kguitar, but with tse3 disabled. Kinda useless that way ;)
So I am afraid I cannot help you with that.
