OK, thanks. I only remembered vaguely. I am just trying to make sense of reports I am seeing, so far not really successfully.
One of them is on fink-users "selfupdate problem in Panther". He got, after 0.5.4 downloaded and installed fink-0.16.0-1 for him and changed the dists link to 10.3,
Re-executing fink to use the new version... Reading package info... Updating package index... done. Information about 126 packages read in 4 seconds. Failed: no matching version found for bzip2
No one answered this so far. I guess another selfupdate will work for him, because bzip2 is not necessary anyway.

% fink selfupdate sudo /sw/bin/fink selfupdate Password: curl -f -L -s -S -O http://fink.sourceforge.net/CURRENT-FINK
You already have the package descriptions from the latest Fink point release. (installed:0.5.2 available:0.5.4)
I don't know if this was the complete output, but he wrote it like it was.
