I've been playing around with packages which don't currently build
prebound libraries and found that in the majority of cases where
libtool is used, calling libtool with -no-undefined will work--provided
the dependencies are prebound, of course. This can usually be achieved
by adding SetLDFLAGS: -no-undefined to the info file, although a few
are a bit trickier. I've emailed the maintainers for the packages I've
tested, but perhaps it would be a good idea for the documentation to
encourage maintainers to try -no-undefined when their packages don't
prebind. There isn't much documentation around about prebinding as it
is, so I learned what I know about it through trial and error; a little
something on the subject in Fink's docs would be helpful to
maintainers.
