Yeah, it was the top news item on fink's home page for a while. It is still on the front page though. Apple removed your java sdk when they updated your java to 1.4.2 with software update. YOu must go to http://connect.apple.com and download the new java sdk and install it. Fink will detect that it is there and will stop complaining at you when you try and build svn.
