In my humble opinion it should be %p/var/tmp/jove in the first place. If you cannot influence that by configure you will have to patch the sources. as soon as it is within the Fink hierachy you can do whatever you want to
Thanks. Ended up doing that and the solution was to let dpkg do the work, as it removes the directories if they are empty and doesn't remove them if they have recover files there and warns the user.
