In any case, this line was not there in versions 1.2.6-2 (RC1), it is there in 1.2.6-5 (RC5) (haven't checked intermediate release candidates), and it is the one that makes the difference in colors.

Anyways, I'm talking to the PNG folks right now and it sounds like they did some endianness twiddling that might have caused it.

I haven't seen any endianness changes between the versions I mentioned. But the real bug may, of course, be elsewhere and may be only triggered by this line.
