There was some indication of the purpose in my msg to this list
"g77: couldn't run `undle-gcc-3.4.3': No such file or directory" :
"Purpose is to get the build to be independent of the system _ say of
gcc_select."
Clearly I should have cc'd you explicitly _ forgot because I thought of
that msg as a general question to the list on g77.
As to the specific change, it only changes use of /usr/lib/libgcc.a
to 3.4.3/libgcc.a from g77. If you think this might be a problem
(didn't see any indication in DescPackaging to this effect though),
just sent me a short msg off list _ there are other ways.
