Do you know what packages they are?

Firefox and mozilla both don't like later versions of freetype (such as the one included in X.org). The latest mozilla package was changed so that it always reads Fink's (older) freetype, but firefox was left alone with freetype completely disabled. The upcoming Firefox version 1.1 is supposed to have the freetype issue fixed (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234035)
