of course that is important. If you look up the internet however you will find 
that this is precisely why darwin ports is cited as a professional option while 
fink is often belittled as a 'nice little project'. If fink target audience is 
the average Joe then the fink binary distribution should be up to scratch IMHO.

... I don't and never have used binaries, nor the stable tree so the above is 
not a request but I'm having a hard time reconciliating the (perceived) goals 
and methods. binaries come from stable, stable come from test of unstable and 
unstable come from sorting out the tracker.

Just playing the devil's advocate here.
