| Why am I getting this error? Why is the flag considered a file name?

| I used SetLDFLAGS in the info file. Please clarify!

Use -Wl,-multiply_defined,suppress or -Wl,-multiply_defined -Wl,suppress

If you removed the --silent from the libtool line you'd see that the
- -multiply_defined got eaten by libtool.
