I have posted new proposed packaging for lammpi and gromacs-mpi as
well as a new openmpi package in fink tracking. The lammpi is updated to
the latest version, 7.1.2, and coexists with the new openmpi packaging.
The gromacs-mpi packaging now uses variants to allow that package to be
built either against lammpi or openmpi. If you currently have gromacs-mpi
installed, with all of the proposed packaging files present, you should
be able to upgrade with...
fink install gromacs-mpi-lammpi
The only remaining glitch at the moment is that upgrading from the old
lammpi 7.0.6-1002 based gromacs-mpi package to the new gromacs-mpi-openmpi
package isn't automatic. Fink recognizes that the old lammpi conflicts
(because it is built against g95 instead of gfortran and more importantly
it will overlap in filenames) but doesn't do it automatically...
Could not resolve inconsistent dependencies!
The following errors remain:
Conflict of openmpi: lammpi (<< 7.1.2-1000) is not resolved due to lammpi
Conflict of openmpi: lammpi-shlibs (<< 7.1.2-1000) is not resolved due to
lammpi-shlibs
Conflict of openmpi: lammpi-dev (<< 7.1.2-1000) is not resolved due to
lammpi-dev
I would have liked fink to be smart enough to attempt to deinstall the
offending lammpi but it didn't. If anyone has any ideas on how to automate the
upgrade from the old lammpi packaging (which can't coexist) to the new
lammpi packaging during the installation of the new openmpi packaging I would
be interested.
