I've tried mailing asari takashi a couple of times about dbus stuff but haven't gotten a response back.
Today I've finished up a major update of the dbus packages in my experimental tree, and I'd like some feedback from folks on them. dbus 0.92 ups the library version to libdbus-1.3.dylib -- however, since nothing in fink is really using dbus right at the moment (since dbus isn't getting started) I've gone ahead and made this dbus package contain the 0.62 libdbus-1.2.dylib for binary-compatibility, and to then package the libdbus-1.3.dylib for all future packages. It also contains dbus-glib which in 0.60 was part of the dbus package but is now released separately (to avoid difficult upgrades). It contains some scripts to automatically handle running the system bus on startup, as well as running the session bus on a per-user basis.
