I just chopped every line with DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH out of the wrapper script and it now works fine.

Do you want me to commit the change?

Coincidently, I ran into the same problem 12 hours ago with the latest version of coot, which similarly introduced this stuff into the wrapper. As long as the path is hard-coded into the binary correctly, you don't need DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and I guess this is a good example of why it is best avoided.
