I can't really comment on this. I have no Intel system, so I am in
no position to maintain that package anyway...
Max, I think you slightly misunderstood the nature of my request,
so let me explain it further.
The 10.4 tree is really for both architectures, intel and powerpc.
The main thrust of my request for comments had to do with whether
the current fink package for sdl-mixer in the unstable tree is
ready for the stable tree or not. (It's based on a different
upstream version.) If it's not ready, we'll try to apply the same
intel fix for the stable package, but it seems easier to me to just
move the (fixed) unstable package to stable unless there are other
problems with that.
I am not aware of any problems with the unstable PPC version of sdl-
mixer.
