That is unfortunate. It's negative feedback, though I'm afraid without incredibly helpful details, as it's been a week or so since I tried to compile/install. Spent some time trying to install the binaries from gnucash's website without luck, despite fulfilling dependencies with Fink. Then realized gnucash itself was in Fink, so started fresh by installing that package. This took several hours, and left me with a gnucash install that was only nearly functional. IIRC, I got a register screen and a terminal error message. Here's where my memory fades, and my removal of the package frustrates re- creation. I know that's frustrating; mea culpa.
I've found some more documentation online, including http:// homepage.mac.com/elliottmce/gnucash_guide/ which seems optimistic. I've also cursed Quicken 2005 (free with a Mac Mini last summer). So I'll probably give it another go. Just grumpy, and thought y'all should know that this isn't quite working. (Perhaps that's why, IIRC, it's an unstable binary.)
