| I'd like to give bluefish maintainership as the development tree is too complicated for me and requires too much discussions. So, if somebody wants to take it, I'd be pleased. The stable release is OK, only the development tree is problematic. But all future versions will be based upon it, so that potential maintainer has to participate in it to get the right things for the Mac. Moreover, the upstream team wants to ship the development version to users so that they can test it and report bugs, request for enhancements, etc. The development version is already on the server, though not yet announced. Problems so far are: 1 - Too much defaults overriden in configure/makefile (this part requires good capabilities of arguiing, which I don't have enough and don't will to have.) 2 - Plugins probably not compiled as they should for the Mac (this part requires understanding of libraries/modules on Mac which I don't have) 3 - Internationalization of plugins not workin. Probably related to points 1 or 2, or both. This part is critical as it used to work and it works in the stable release; and bluefish users are used to get their favorite editor in their language (many users are not native English speakers, the same for the development team). Development versions can co-exist pacefully with stable releases. So far I put them only for 10.4 unstable in experimental tree and without variant. If anybody is interested, I can share my knowledge on it. And incidently if other people (or same) are interesting in the French translation of Bluefish po files or in the maintainance of the Bluefish manual (English and French), that would be nice too.
