Hi,

Just an update to wrap up things and for the record. I have found out
that the Samba dependency 'readline' thanks to Fink, installed
readline basically via fink -install readline , browsed into Samba
(3.25a) source tree in Terminal, did the standard "./configure",
"./make" and as far as I can tell, it builds perfectly.

As I don't have access to any Windows machine and more importantly, I
don't have the experience of packaging or developing, that ends what
I can do as end user.

If there will be someone interested , I really don't think some major
changes to already published Samba2.2 needed for 3.25a upgrade. As a
side note, Samba developers themselves evangelise the upgrade to 3.x
tree in various platforms and I think they would be happy to help.

Ilgaz
