I am not sure if anybody still uses the package. It's not been updated
for a long time, and it probably won't. However, if it happens to work
on 10.5 some people might want it. I suspect there are still some 1.6
extensions/projects that were not ported to 1.8.

I personally do not use 1.6 either.
