There's nothing substantive in the tetex package, so it doesn't really 
matter much:

$ dpkg -L tetex
/.
/sw
/sw/share
/sw/share/doc
/sw/share/doc/tetex
/sw/share/doc/tetex/LICENSE.src
/sw/share/doc/tetex/README
/sw/share/doc/tetex/README.fink

I'd guess that there might have been a file overlap at one point and the 
Replace never got updated.

Plus, tetex doesn't Replace debianutils, so you can install tetex again 
after installing debianutils.
