I'm the maintainer for aspell, and I've been working unsuccessfully with an user to try to resolve a problem he has. He has aspell installed on 10.4 Server, on an Intel machine. An attempt to use aspell at the command line fails like:
[moo ~] aspell -d en -c text.txt modules/speller/default/language.cpp:431: failed assertion `*word0 && *inlist0' Abort trap No one else has ever reported a similar error, nor can I reproduce it. He has tried rebuilding aspell, and the dictionary, with /usr/ local moved aside. I have run out of ideas, so I hope that someone can try aspell on 10.4 Server to see if perhaps there is something that prevents aspell from working there. If it works, try it with the German dictionary.
