I've been using this now for a while--it seems OK.

One thing that I did note is that not all packages get autoloaded after 
install.  This is true for Debian's octave2.9-forge as well.  Perhaps a 
note concerning this should be included in the DescUsage.

Otherwise I'd say it's ready to commit, and I'll think about making 
"legal" single packages for items that aren't covered in this tarball, 
e.g the "physical constants" module.
