I'd like to take over nco, and update it to a new version. However, it currently depends on a couple of packages that aren't mine: libdap3(-shlibs) and libnc-dap3(-shlibs). The maintainer is cc'ed on this message.
The upgrade scenario requires the following: 1) A new libversion of libdap is needed (libdap6). And libdap3 would be updated to Conflict/Replace libdap6. 2) A new version of libdap-nc3 (same libversion) is needed. The extant libnc-dap3 depends on libdap3, and the new one will depend on libdap6. 3) I plan to leave the old libdap-nc3 version around in case of dependent package issues (below). The package descriptions are posted at https://finch.finkdeveloper.net/svn/users/akh/experimental/nco-project/ Don't worry about the cdat and scientificpython files--I was looking at them because they also depend on libnc-dap3 and libdap3. I haven't heard from Jeff as of yet on this, and I'd like to get nco out of the gate soon. I'd also appreciate any comments from folks about the packaging, upgrade scenario, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
