The strange thing in that linker line is that it contains the flag
-L/sw/lib/freetype219/lib/, even twice, but it does not contain any 
-lfreetype. The error seems not as in many other cases that it picks up 
the wrong libfreetype.dylib, but that it doesn't pick up any 
libfreetype.dylib.
