   Actually I think we may have another bug exposed even when the
missing symbol in libGLw is fixed. One test I did with the molmol
package is to use the same approach I do on linux when building rpms
for it. In that case, I had been using a tarball of the original
sgi-widgets code to produce a local static lib for libGLw under linux.
With the linked into molmol, it always properly displays in OpenGL
with acceleration under the Linux fglrx ATI drivers. However using
the same approach under Leopard fails. The molmol program (linked
using the framework libGL hack) runs but displays in X11 rather than
OpenGL mode. So I suspect libGLw may be a corner-case where the
framework libGL doesn't suffice.
