I can't promise that I'll be able to setup a "clean" stable install to iron out issues, but I would also try to aggressively push some packages of mine to stable, when it seems plausible to me that they are stable and when I feel it is useful (*after* running "fink -m", dep checks, tests etc. on them, of course).
