I've done a preliminary test. I built swig 1.3.36 from an info file having ConfigParams: --without-alllang and had no trouble building gnucash from svn (tarball builds don't need swig). I'll be more careful and start with a clean system. It might take me until Tuesday, as I'm away from my primary mac. But maybe today or tomorrow I can wrangle enough time on my wife's laptop to do both the major pangocairo upgrade plus a clean swig build. It does look like we can delete all the language depends/builddepends. But I will test at least swig-built guile wrappers from a clean fink install with no languages installed when I fire up the swig install from the nearly empty info file.
