Dear Fink developers,

I had xmgrace working on my macbook pro for two years. I recently did
some upgrades of both Fink and Mac OS X.

I had installed xmgrace from the grace%%%.tar.gz from the
Weizman Institute page, not from Fink.

When I run xmgrace from an x term my X11 crashes and I get
the message

"The application X11 quit unexpectedly
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected"

Then I decided to uninstall xmgrace and use the distribution from
Fink site. I installed, rebuilt and did all of the standard stuff.

Again,

"The application X11 quit unexpectedly
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected"

HELP I rely on this program for my research.
Do you have any suggestion about what about what to do?
Do I need to reinstall X11 ????

Help Help, Leonard gamberg

Check the console output (using the Console tool from
/Applications/Utilities, and be sure you're looking at console.log).
We've had reports of similar crashiness from another application
(xemacs) after the latest 10.4 security update:

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.os.apple.fink.general/28191/match=xemacs

so it might be worth trying the same fix, depending on what your console
output shows.
