David, Can you try a build of gmp-4.3.0 on Intel Darwin9? On my MacBook Pro, I am seeing four testsuite failures when using your current packaging to build the new gmp 4.3.0 release (with or without the gmp.patch). I have reported this upstream...
http://gmplib.org/list-archives/gmp-bugs/2009-April/001371.html I also see some oddities in their configure. Using the stock gcc 4.0.1 compilers, the -mtune=core2 option isn't recognized and this gets downgraded to -mtune=k8. With SetCC: gcc-4.2 this doesn't happen as -mtune=core2 is recognized. However both forms of the build still have four testsuite failures... make check-TESTS /bin/sh: line 1: 69066 Bus error ${dir}$tst FAIL: t-asmtype PASS: t-aors_1 PASS: t-divrem_1 /bin/sh: line 1: 69123 Segmentation fault ${dir}$tst FAIL: t-fat PASS: t-get_d PASS: t-instrument PASS: t-iord_u PASS: t-mp_bases PASS: t-perfsqr PASS: t-scan /bin/sh: line 1: 69251 Segmentation fault ${dir}$tst FAIL: t-hgcd /bin/sh: line 1: 69271 Segmentation fault ${dir}$tst FAIL: t-matrix22 ================================== 4 of 12 tests failed Please report to gmp-bugs at swox.com There are no testsuite failures when building the same gmp-4.3.0-1000 packaging on powerpc-apple-darwin9 or x86_64-apple-darwin10. I am using the latest Xcode 3.1.2 release on darwin9 in all cases. It would be helpful if someone else could reproduce this issue as well. Thanks in advance.
