Hi list,

I have fink-unstable on my macosx(Intel,10.4) and abcde was not working...

first we had to solve a problem with cd-discid (solved in the unstable,
thanks Alexander Hansen), but there was still some strange trouble being
unable to access the disc. for abcde there seems to be no maintainer,
so I did some debugging and tried to compare the output of the non
working version with the output of a working abcde, taken from an iMac
running Debian(powerpc,unstable).

the curious thing is that the outputs were totally different, at least
in the area where the problem was arising, and also the two scripts were
not really comparable... so the next step was to try out the script
from Debian on Darwin. it did not work out of the box and it does not
do well with redirecting output, but it works!

it complains because some outputs are redirected appending a $REDIR to
the line, where
REDIR=">&2"
(at line 2693)

for some reason this works on linux but not on darwin: on darwin it
complains saying that there's no such file, '>&2'...

I replaced the definition in the easiest way:
REDIR=""

and it works, but the output is different than on linux.
